FAQ
What are the rules of the slide puzzle?
Slide a tile next to the empty space into it, and put the numbers back in order 1, 2, 3… from the top left. It's solved when the empty space ends up in the bottom right.
Is every puzzle solvable?
Yes. Today's shuffle is made by making random legal moves from the solved position, so it can always be put back. Random practice puzzles are made the same way.
How do I play?
Click (tap) a tile to slide it into the empty space. If the tile is in the same row or column as the empty space, the whole line slides at once. Arrow keys and swipes point in the direction the tile moves. The timer starts with your first move.
How is the leaderboard ranked?
By solve time, fastest first; ties go to fewer moves. You only need a nickname, and you can submit up to 30 times a day per size. The server replays your moves to verify them.
