FAQ
How does the reaction time test work?
Tap the box and it turns red. Tap again the moment it turns green. Tapping while it's still red is a false start, and that try is redone. Your result is the average of 5 tries.
What's a normal average in milliseconds?
Simple visual reaction time is generally around 200–300 ms, and under 220 ms is on the fast side. The result includes the lag of your screen, mouse or touchscreen, so different devices can vary by a few dozen ms.
Why is there no leaderboard?
This site only accepts records that the server can verify by replaying your moves. A reaction time is just a duration measured by your browser, with no way to verify it, so this game is practice only. Your personal best is saved in this browser.
What counts as a false start?
Tapping before it turns green, or less than 100 ms after it turns green (faster than the lower limit of human visual reaction), is a false start, and that try is redone.
Are my results saved?
Your personal best and the averages of your last 10 runs are saved only in this browser's localStorage. Nothing is sent to the server. Clearing your browser data deletes them too.
