What are the rules of the N-Queens puzzle?
Place N queens on an N×N board so that no two share a row, a column or a diagonal. On an 8×8 board there are 92 solutions (12 if you don't count rotations and reflections).
What is the fixed queen?
Each day one queen starts in a fixed position and can't be moved. We only choose positions where a solution containing that queen is guaranteed to exist.
How do I play?
Tap a square to place a queen, and tap it again to remove it. Squares under attack are shaded. Once every row has one queen and none attack each other, the puzzle completes automatically.
How is the leaderboard ranked?
By the time from opening the puzzle to solving it, fastest first. You only need a nickname, and you can submit up to 30 times a day per board size. The server checks your placement.
