FAQ
How do you play pentominoes?
There are 12 pieces, each made of five squares joined edge to edge. Fit them all into the 10×6 board without overlapping, sticking out or leaving gaps. Pieces can be rotated and flipped. Striped pieces are placed from the start and can't be moved.
Is there only one answer?
No. The 10×6 rectangle is known to have 2,339 different tilings, and the area around the fixed pieces can often be filled in more than one way. Any arrangement that fills the board exactly counts as solved (the server also just checks that every square is filled).
How do I move the pieces?
Drag a piece from below onto the board (on a phone, drag with your finger; the piece is shown a little above your finger). You can also tap a piece to select it, then tap a square on the board to place it there. Use the Rotate and Flip buttons, or the R and F keys, to change its orientation. Tap a placed piece to pick it up again. With a keyboard, Tab to a piece and press Enter, then move around the board with the arrow keys and press Enter to place it.
How is the leaderboard ranked?
By time, fastest first (the number of pieces to place is set by the level, so moves aren't compared). You only need a nickname, and you can submit up to 30 times a day per level. The server re-places your pieces on the board to verify every run.
