FAQ

How do you play Minesweeper?

Each number tells you how many mines are in the 8 squares around it. Open every square that isn't a mine to win. Open a mine and the game is over.

Can I hit a mine on the first click?

No. Today's board starts with one safe opening (a square with no mines around it) already revealed. Everyone gets the same board and the same start, so times are fair to compare.

How do flags and chording work?

Right-click on a computer, or long-press on a phone, to place a flag (or switch taps to flags with the Flag mode button). Click a number whose surrounding flags match it, and the rest of its neighbors open at once. A wrong flag means you'll hit a mine, so be careful.

How is the leaderboard ranked?

By clear time, fastest first; ties go to fewer clicks. You only need a nickname, and you can submit up to 30 times a day per level. The server replays your moves to verify every run.
