FAQ
How do you play mancala (Kalah)?
Pick one pit on your side and sow its stones counterclockwise, one per pit (drop one in your own store, skip the opponent's store). If the last stone lands in your store, you take another turn. If it lands in an empty pit on your side and the pit opposite has stones, you capture those stones plus your own into your store. The game ends when either side is empty, and the remaining stones go to each player's store. Most stones in the store wins.
How strong is the computer?
It looks 3 moves ahead and favors extra turns and captures — about intermediate level. Its play changes a little every day.
How is the score calculated?
Your store minus the computer's store at the end of the game. Losses can be recorded too (with a negative score).
How is the leaderboard ranked?
Biggest stone margin first; ties go to the shorter game time. You only need a nickname, and you can submit up to 30 times a day. The server replays your game, including the computer's replies, to verify it.
