    FAQ

    Why does the poi tear?

It weakens little by little while it's in the water, and much faster the quicker you move it underwater. When you lift it, the paper loses strength equal to the weight of the fish on it; if there isn't enough left, it tears and the fish gets away. Just like a real one, wet paper never dries out.

    Any tips for scooping?

Don't hold the poi still underwater or swing it fast. Goldfish only flee from a poi that's in the water, so line up your aim above the surface, then slip it gently under a fish and lift it out quickly. Go after heavy fish like the telescope eye while the paper is still strong.

Can I scoop several fish at once?

Yes. Two fish at once doubles the points, and three or more triples them. But their weights add up too, so get greedy and the paper tears.

    What's the goldfish bowl?

Every fish you scoop is recorded by kind in this browser and added to your goldfish bowl list. The goal is to collect all 6 kinds. Nothing is sent to the server.

    Why is there no leaderboard?

This site only accepts records that the server can verify by replaying your moves. In goldfish scooping, your finger movements and the physics are the record itself, so it can't be verified this way, and the game is practice only. Your personal best is saved in this browser.
