FAQ

How do you play Gomoku?

Take turns placing stones. The first to get five of their stones in a row — horizontally, vertically or diagonally — wins. You play Black and move first. Six or more in a row also wins (there are no Renju restrictions).

How strong is the computer?

It plays at about an intermediate level, weighing moves that make or block fours and threes. Its play changes a little every day.

How is the score calculated?

Only wins are recorded, scored as 100 minus your number of moves. The faster you win, the higher the score.

How is the leaderboard ranked?

Highest score first; ties go to the shorter time. You only need a nickname, and you can submit up to 30 times a day. The server replays your game, including the computer's replies, to verify it.
