FAQ
How do you play the Countdown numbers game?
Use any of the six numbers, each at most once (you don't have to use them all), and combine them with addition, subtraction, multiplication and division to hit the target exactly. Every step must be a whole number: no divisions that don't come out even, and no negative numbers.
How is it different from Make 10?
You get six numbers, the target has three digits, and you choose which numbers to use. Fractions aren't allowed. The usual approach is to build around the big numbers (25, 50, 75, 100), multiply to get close to the target, then adjust with the small ones.
What if I can't solve it?
Press Show answer to see a solution (that puzzle can then no longer be submitted). Every puzzle is guaranteed to have a solution.
How is the leaderboard ranked?
By the time from when the puzzle appears until you enter a correct expression, fastest first. You only need a nickname, and you can submit up to 30 times a day. The server recalculates your expression to verify it.
