FAQ
How do you play checkers?
Pieces move one square diagonally forward. If an opponent's piece is diagonally in front of you and the square beyond it is empty, jump over it to capture (keep jumping if you can capture again). Captures are mandatory. A piece that reaches the far row becomes a king and can also move backward. Capture all of the opponent's pieces or leave them with no move to win.
How strong is the computer?
It looks 4 moves ahead and values piece count and kings — about intermediate level. Its play changes a little every day.
How is the score calculated?
Only wins are recorded, scored as 200 minus your number of moves. The faster you win, the higher the score.
How is the leaderboard ranked?
Highest score first; ties go to the shorter time. You only need a nickname, and you can submit up to 30 times a day. The server replays your game, including the computer's replies, to verify it.
